This song follows the life of a heartbeat, from birth, through a rainy day (listen for drops of rain on panes of glass), two divorces (anything that sounds like a chorus is actually a divorce) and into a period of doubt, despair and self-reflection.

After much soul-searching, it realizes that what it wanted most it already had within itself, and with this new revelation, it then builds a beautiful garden for a lover.

The heart lives out a long and prosperous life in the garden with its companion, until the day that it peacefully, quietly, beats for the last time.
