about

Remembering the time of the first lockdown, and wondering how do we do this "virtual dating" thing, I wrote this song imagining how it could all go. Something relatable, upbeat, reassuring--and perhaps encouraging ;)

lyrics

Rise, rise, and the daily lights are with you on your own
Until the time that we connect, as best as we are able, maybe at your kitchen table

But I'll see you on the beach
The moon hangs down and it's so tropical
Casting ripples on your skin
We smile at each other, and one thing leads to another

It's what we can imagine
It's what we can imagine--for now

Suggestions and questions are the plays that are available
It'll keep us stable
And it hurts a bit to wonder just what we're missing out
Without a doubt we're adapting to it all

But I'll see you on the beach
The moon hangs down and it's so tropical
Casting ripples on your skin
We smile at each other, and one thing leads to another

It's what we can imagine
It's what we can imagine--for now

Our fingers are what do the expressing for each other
Voices sound like far away toaster sometimes, but it can be enough
If you can find the throughline
It's getting a little late
You gotta clear that plate
We settle into the date
And both of us want to (...)

...A feline walks across the keys!

And I'll see you on the beach
The moon hangs down and it's so tropical
Casting ripples on your skin
We smile

And I'll see you on the beach
The moon hangs down and it's so tropical
Casting ripples on your skin
We smile at each other, and one thing leads to another

It's what we can imagine
It's what we can imagine--for now
For now
